Fishing Shark River Inlet

A smaller but productive inlet connecting Shark River to the ocean. The current rips through on the outgoing tide and concentrates bass and blues in the channel mouth. Schoolie stripers are consistent from spring through fall and the back bay behind the inlet has good weakfish and flounder action. Light tackle fishing with small jigs and soft plastics is productive throughout the season. This inlet is more approachable than Manasquan and gets less pressure on weekday tides.
