Fishing Somers Point Back Bay
Where Great Egg Harbor Bay meets the main back bay system near Somers Point. A historically productive area for stripers and weakfish where the mouths of the tidal rivers concentrate bait and hold fish on both tides. Spring stripers work the current seams and fall bass push through heading south. Good flounder action in spring and the protected water makes it fishable in conditions that would shut down the inlets. The deeper channels near the bay mouth hold fish later into the season.
